LABOUR IN HANWELL CALLS ON EALING COUNCIL TO SURFACE GREENFORD AVENUE

Pedestrians, cyclists and car drivers will be aware of the rapidly deteriorating surface on Greenford Avenue.

This Avenue is the main South to North route in the northern half of Hanwell.

Bus routes E1 and E3 (Part) and E11 (part) use it. It also has heavy traffic going to and from both Greenford and the A40. There are many schools also on this route including Brentside High, Drayton Bridge High, Brentside Primary and Mayfield Primary.

The state of this important road is now a disgrace to Ealing Council. There are many potholes; there are too many “patches” which have been carried out by contractors and most of these “patches” have sunk below road level; other parts are breaking up. There are many holes near the footpaths, which fill with water, and so passing traffic drowns pedestrians.

Surely it is time for the Council to resurface this important thoroughfare?
